Ronald E. Pizzo is a founding partner of the law firm, ARNOLD PIZZO McKIGGAN. Ron graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 1986 and was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1987. Since graduating from law school, his primary areas of practice have been in the areas of Labour/Employment Law and Administrative Law.

Labour Law

Ron represents unions in various matters such as at arbitration hearings and labour boards hearings, throughout Atlantic Canada. . He currently acts for C.A.U.T., C.A.W.-Canada and its locals, N.S.N.U., C.E.P./A.C.C. (the former ACTWU union) and Teamsters Local 927 and have represented the unions' interests, and the interests of their members, in arbitrations, labour board matters and related Supreme Court Actions throughout Atlantic Canada (including the province of Newfoundland and Labrador).

Administrative Law

Ron's Administrative Law practice is mainly focused in representing individuals before licensing boards of various self regulating professions. He has represented a number of individuals before various professional disciplinary tribunals including the College of Registered Nurses, the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists. Ron has also represented physicians in relation to hospital privileging matters. Ron has represented the interests of Dalhousie University professors before the Dalhousie Senate and has also acted in disciplinary matters on behalf of the Nova Scotia Boxing Authority.

Papers and Lectures

Mr. Pizzo has contributed articles to the Lawyers Week and various continuing legal education conferences, again mainly in the area of Labour and Employment. He has presented papers and/or lectured for the Continuing Legal Education Society, Lancaster House and Insight.

He is also a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society, Client Compensation Fund committee.
